 Infant Teacher

At The Learning Experience®, we have designed a curriculum around the six early stages of development and built a foundation for kids to learn, play and grow in our state-of-the-art facilities under the care of our nurturing teachers and staff.

 Infants will experience:

  • Regular playtime including belly and music time, exploration, stimulation, as well as nap and feeding times that we keep consistent with your baby’s individual schedule.
  • Sign language is introduced to increase early advancement in children’s ability to communicate.
  • All infants have their own personal cubby and crib, and we provide private nursing rooms for moms.
  • Private and clean nursing rooms equipped with gliders are provided for mothers that wish to nurse at the center.
  • A 14-step diaper changing procedure is strictly adhered to.
  • Toys, gliders, cribs and changing stations are sanitized daily.

The Child Care Council of Suffolk has an open position for a Field Representative in our CACFP program.  This position is full time, works Monday thru Friday from 9am to 5pm and requires travelling throughout Suffolk County (including out East) to conduct home visits with providers.  Qualified candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a dependable vehicle to drive. This position is non-exempt and based on experience the hourly wage is between $15 to $17/hr.

The Field Representative plays a critical role as the link between the sponsoring organizations and the day care home provider. They provide a first-hand accounting of how the providers are operating the Program. They must develop and maintain open communications and cooperative relationships with providers, while also identifying areas of noncompliance. They must work with the providers to help correct problems, provide additional training or technical assistance when necessary. They must ensure that providers operate according to Program rules and regulations, and that accurate records are available to justify reimbursement for properly served, nutritious meals.

 

General Qualifications:

  • High School or GED required. Associate’s degree preferred
  • 2-3 year general office experience 
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with multi –cultural populations
  • Adaptable to changing work priorities; developing and maintaining positive working relationships; communicating with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; meeting deadlines and schedules; and setting priorities.
  • Must be willing to travel within Suffolk County and have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be flexible in order to meet the demands of the program
  • Well organized and takes initiative 
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures 
  • Experience with CACFP nutrition programs preferred

About CACFP

Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) ensures that children in child care settings receive nutritious, well-balanced meals. Through an agreement with the New York State Department of Health, Child Care Council of Suffolk, Inc., serves as a sponsor for this federal program. We aim to improve the diet of children ages birth to 12 years of age, by providing training and offering a partial reimbursement to child care providers for the nutritious meals and snacks they serve.

Looking for a part-time helper (about 20 hrs) for a home-based certified group family daycare in Farmingville. Duties include engaging children from age 2-12, help preparing lunch and snack, clean up after, guiding kids through bathroom runs, pull-up changes, taking them outside, assisting on field trips in the summer. Prefer someone with a clean driver’s license to transport children as needed. The daycare is willing to train the right person and getting them certified and trained per NYS OCFS requirements.
